FIAT 124 Sport Coupé

The Fiat 124 Sport Coupé was designed as a three-box notchback by Mario Boano, also known for designing the bodywork on the Ferrari 250 GT "Boano".

These Fiat Sport Cars were desperately underrated, having the features of much more exotic machinery as standard. 124 Sport Coupés were very modern in chassis and engine design. Braking was via four 9" disc brakes with a front/rear weight-sensitive proportioning valve. It also had a sealed cooling system, viscous fan clutch and a toothed timing belt for the (Lampredi) twin-cam motor, which made it the first mass-produced engine to feature this instead of the usual chain-drive system.

The Fiat 124 Sport in question is fitted with the 1438cc twin cam engine and a 5 speed gearbox, and is the second series Fiat 124 Sport Coupe (codenamed BC) that initially came onto the market at the same time as the Fiat Dino Coupe, hence the front profile similarity.

This particular Fiat 124 Sport Coupe is a one owner car from its first date of registration in June 1970 and is finished in Fiat Dark Blue with complementing beige internals and cromodora alloy wheels, it has been the subject of an extensive restoration in 2014 and is an immaculate example both inside and out, needing just a thorough clean and polish to show its resplendence. The engine bay is immaculate with its aluminium cam belt cover and the "in period" most desirable Fiamm air horns.

Having covered only 24,000kms (15,000 miles) in its life this car is an absolutely splendid example and really needs to be seen to be appreciated, as photos cannot do this car justice.
